Selling a house in Maize

Maize is just northwest of Wichita on K-96, and most of it didn’t exist twenty years ago. The town grew 68% between 2010 and 2020, and the median house dates from 2011. A house that new, in good shape, should be listed, and we’ll tell you so.

Where we come in is the older part of town, where about one house in six is from before 1970 and some of them need real work, or when the house is fine but you need it sold by a certain date: a job move, a divorce, an estate. We also buy rentals here with the tenants in place.

Maize is in Sedgwick County, so any back taxes get paid to the county treasurer out of the sale at closing, and anything that has to go through court, like probate, goes through the district court in Wichita.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the house

Fill out the form or call. We'll ask about the condition, who lives there, and when you'd like to be done, and we'll give you a rough range on the phone so you can decide whether a walkthrough is worth your time.

  2. We see the house

We set a time to walk through it with you or someone you trust. You don't need to clean up for it, and nobody asks you to sign anything that day. If it's rented, we work around the tenants.

  3. You get a written offer

A price and a proposed closing date, in writing, within 48 hours of the walkthrough. There's no fee and no obligation. Take the time you need, and have your own attorney read it if you want.

  4. Close at a title company

A local title company handles the closing and pays you, as soon as two weeks once title is clear, or later if you need more time. You don't sign the deed until then, and we never ask you for money. Leave behind anything you don't want.
